She defeated Oskana Livach of Ukraine 7-5 while in the pre-quarterfinals she defeated Japan’s defending champion Susai Yui. Vinesh has reached the semi-finals of the Olympic Games for the first time. Earlier, she had lost in the quarter-finals of the 2016 and 2020 Olympic Games.
