Vande Bharat Sleeper will run from Delhi to Srinagar, know timing, fare and stoppages

New Delhi: After the launch of Vande Bharat Express train on different routes in the country, the experience of rail travel in the country has completely changed. The third variant of Vande Bharat ‘Vande Bharat Sleeper’ is expected to be introduced in January 2025. Vande Bharat Sleeper, manufactured by BEML, will travel long distances and overnight.

The prototype of such a train was unveiled by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav in September 2024. The national transporter is working on a proposal to introduce Vande Bharat sleeper trainsets in Jammu and Kashmir. The train will run between New Delhi and Srinagar. It will be maintained and operated by the Northern Railway zone.

According to the news published in ET Now, the railway official said that this train will directly connect Delhi to Jammu and Kashmir. In the coming time, this train may be run till Baramulla also.

The New Delhi-Srinagar Vande Bharat Sleeper train will cover a distance of more than 800 km in less than 13 hours. The Vande Sleeper train will run on the USBRL Project which is being completed in mission mode.

The Vande Bharat Sleeper train from New Delhi to Srinagar will depart at 7 pm and reach Srinagar at 8 am. The train will stop at some major stations on the way. The stations where the train will stop include Ambala Cantt Junction, Ludhiana Junction, Kathua, Jammu Tawi, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, Sangaldan and Banihal stations.

Passengers will be able to travel in New Delhi-Srinagar Vande Bharat Sleeper train by taking three types of tickets. It will have AC 3 Tier (3AC), AC 2 Tier (2AC) and AC First Class (1AC). The fare for the journey from New Delhi to Srinagar by Vande Bharat Sleeper train is expected to be around Rs 2000 in 3AC, Rs 2500 for 2AC and Rs 3000 for First AC.
