There is great importance of reading or listening to Shiv Puran in Sawan

Shiv Puran : In Sanatan Dharma, Lord Shiva is called the protector of the world. Shiva element has been described in Vedic literature. Lord Shiva’s form, leelas and stories have been described in Shiva literature. The glory of Lord Bholenath is mentioned through the story. Various forms, incarnations, Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva have been described in detail in Shiv Puran.

Shiv Puran is the most read Puran among the 18 Puranas. It is believed that by reading and listening to the story of Shiv Puran, all the problems of a person are removed and the blessings of Lord Shiva remain in the house and family.

The month of Sawan is considered the most auspicious time to recite the Shiv Puran. Monday is the day dedicated to Lord Shiva. Reciting the Shiv Puran on this day gives special results. Shiva devotees wait for the Sawan Shivratri throughout the year.

Shiv Puran should be recited in a calm and secluded environment and the mind should be kept pure while reciting and if possible, Shiv Puran should be recited under the guidance of a scholar.

By regularly reciting Shiva Purana, a person becomes spiritually rich and gets the knowledge of the purpose of life. A person reciting Shiva Purana does not get discouraged by the difficulties of life.
