Test Team Announced: New Zealand has announced its team for the one-Test series against Afghanistan and two-match Test series against Sri Lanka next month. The selectors of the New Zealand Cricket Board have surprised everyone by selecting five spinners in the Kiwi team. These five spinners will prove to be the biggest weapon for the New Zealand cricket team in the Test series.

The New Zealand team will play the only Test against Afghanistan at the Greater Noida ground in India. This only Test match between New Zealand and Afghanistan will be played from 9 to 13 September.

The two-match Test series between New Zealand and Sri Lanka will be played from 18 September to 26 September. Experienced fast bowler Tim Southee will be the captain of the New Zealand team, while the team also has players like Kane Williamson, Devon Conway, Glenn Phillips and Rachin Ravindra. New Zealand coach Gary Stead said, ‘Difficult decisions may have to be taken for the Test tour of the subcontinent. Apart from humidity and heat, fast bowlers may have to stay out considering the pitches.’

New Zealand coach Gary Stead said, ‘Tim and I have talked about this and it is also important for workload management of the fast bowlers, including Tim.’ Spin all-rounder Michael Bracewell is making a comeback after 18 months of injury. Along with him, Mitchell Santner, Ejaz Patel, Glenn Phillips and Rachin Ravindra will handle the spin.
