Punjab government presents Rs 1 crore and a car with special number to Paris Olympics gold medalist Arshad Nadeem

The Punjab Government on Tuesday rewarded Pakistan’s javelin throw champion Arshad Nadeem with Rs 1 crore and a new car for winning the historic gold medal at the Paris Olympics. When Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz went to meet Nadeem and his family in his village in Mian Chunnu, she presented Arshad Nadeem with a cash prize and car keys. The special thing is that Arshad Nadeem has received a car with his Olympic record number as a reward. The Chief Minister himself had told the officials that he wanted a car with a special number.

He said Arshad deserves everything he gets as he has brought so much joy and pride to the country. Nadeem’s parents were also present when the chief minister handed over the keys of a new car bearing the number plate 92.97 to Nadeem, who had won the gold medal in Paris with an Olympic record of 92.97 metres.

The ‘deputy commissioner’ accompanying Maryam Nawaz said that the cheque and paperwork related to the car were completed in record time on the instructions of the chief minister as she wanted to meet Nadeem.

He said that the Chief Minister had also ordered for a special number plate. Before returning to Lahore, Maryam also gave a cheque of Rs 50 lakh to Nadeem’s coach Salman Iqbal Butt. Nadeem had ended Pakistan’s 40-year drought of gold medal in the Olympics.

In the Paris Olympics 2024, he had thrown more than 90 meters not once but twice. No other player in the world had covered such a distance. At the same time, Neeraj Chopra, who won the silver medal for India, also stood second with a distance of less than 90 meters.
