PM Modi calls Joe Biden, what was the conversation?

PM Modi-Joe Biden Meeting: PM Narendra Modi spoke to US President Joe Biden on phone on Monday. During this, many global issues were discussed between the two leaders, including the situation of Hindus in Bangladesh and the Ukraine war. PM Modi also praised Joe Biden for the partnership between India and America.

Prime Minister Modi informed President Biden about his recent visit to Ukraine and reiterated that India will fully cooperate to bring peace and stability in the region as soon as possible.

Discussion on Bangladeshi Hindus

Apart from this, there was also a discussion between the two about the increasing atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh. Both the leaders believe that law and order should be restored in the neighboring country and the safety of minority Hindus should be ensured. They also reiterated the need to further strengthen multilateral cooperation, including the Quad. During their talks, both also emphasized that the purpose of the India-US partnership is to benefit the people of both countries as well as the entire humanity.

Modi wrote on the social media platform ‘X’, “We discussed in detail various regional and global issues, including the situation in Ukraine. I reiterated India’s full support for the early restoration of peace and stability.” Modi said, “We also discussed the situation in Bangladesh and emphasized the need for early restoration of normalcy and ensuring the safety of minorities, especially Hindus, in Bangladesh.”

Biden was informed about the Ukraine visit

This was the first time an Indian Prime Minister visited Ukraine after independence. War has been going on between Russia and Ukraine for two years. Before Ukraine, when PM Modi visited Russia, there too he had talked about taking diplomatic recourse to solve this problem.

PM Modi had also told Putin that this is not the time for war. He told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, “We were not neutral from day one, we have taken a side, and we stand firmly for peace.” Despite the formation of the interim government, attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh have not stopped. Temples and houses of Hindus are being set on fire.
