Playing the ‘Brahmin’ card, Mayawati hit two targets with one arrow

Ever since SP has made Mata Prasad Pandey the leader of opposition in UP, the ‘Brahmin’ card has suddenly started being discussed. At a time when it was believed everywhere that SP, which talks about giving prominence to the backward-dalit-minority (PDA) community in the elections, will make one of them the leader of the opposition, in such an environment, Akhilesh Yadav’s move has surprised everyone.

Political analysts say that by making Mata Prasad Pandey the leader of the opposition, Akhilesh Yadav has tried to expand his PDA. His move is being seen as a dent in the BJP. Anyway, there are talks in hushed tones in political circles that this class is somewhere angry with the BJP government of UP and has been feeling neglected.

This is also important because in the internal battle going on in UP BJP, on one side there is CM Yogi and on the other side Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya who is seen challenging him is also an OBC leader. That is why all the parties including BJP have become alert due to the political move of Akhilesh Yadav. BJP is also worried because along with the shift of PDA class in the Lok Sabha elections, if the Brahmin class also shifts by the next assembly elections, then a big loss is certain.

Mayawati’s move!
SP’s political move has given BSP chief Mayawati a chance to play her card. Actually, Dalit vote bank has been the traditional voter of BSP. But due to SP’s PDA card in the Lok Sabha elections, this time that voter shifted towards the SP-Congress alliance. Mayawati is worried about this crumbling vote bank. That is why, while attacking SP, she targeted SP and said that votes were taken from these sections but SP did not give them any post. In this way, she wants to give a message to the Dalit vote bank that they were used only for votes.
