Planning to attack before Iran! Israel doesn’t want to waste time waiting

Iran-Israel Conflict:  Israel has become alert in view of the Iranian attack, but the Jewish nation’s planning is not just to prepare for war and wait for the attack. Hebrew media says that if Israel gets solid evidence that Tehran will attack, then it can think of attacking before that.

According to The Times of Israel, Hebrew media reported this after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called a meeting of security chiefs on Sunday evening. The meeting was attended by Defense Minister Yoav Galant, IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi, Mossad chief David Barnea and Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar.

As per the report, it is estimated that Iran could attack Israel in the coming days or weeks. But the Jewish nation has no idea how big or how this attack will be carried out. Therefore, it is discussing several options about how it can best respond to or prevent a potential attack.

What happened in the meeting?
According to Ynet, the option of attacking Iran was discussed in the meeting. However, security officials stressed that such a move would only be authorized if Israel receives concrete intelligence that Tehran is about to attack itself.

The report says that in this case Israel must have its own intelligence and it will have to match it with the American intelligence information. Even if it matches, the Jewish nation can avoid the option of attacking first. In fact, like Israel, the US is also unsure about the level and nature of Iran’s possible attack. The US believes that Tehran has not yet taken a final decision.

Threats from Iran and Lebanon
Let us tell you that Iran and its Lebanese ally Hezbollah and Palestinian group Hamas have blamed Israel for the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran last week. Haniyeh was killed just hours after the killing of Hezbollah’s military chief Fuad Shukr near Beirut. Israel has taken responsibility for Shukr’s murder, but has not officially commented on Haniyeh, the chief of Hamas’ political wing.

Tensions have increased significantly after the killing of Shukr and Haniya; the region has been going through turmoil for the past several months. On October 7 last year, Hamas launched an unprecedented attack on Israel, killing about 1,200 people and taking 251 people hostage. In response, Israel started attacking Hamas-occupied Gaza. More than 39,000 people were killed in Israeli attacks.
