Parivartini Ekadashi 2024: The religious scriptures have stated the special importance of observing Ekadashi fast. The eleventh date of the Hindu calendar is called Ekadashi. This date comes twice in a month. One on the full moon and the other on the new moon. The Ekadashi that comes after the full moon is called Krishna Paksha Ekadashi and the Ekadashi that comes after the new moon is called Shukla Paksha Ekadashi.
Parivartini Ekadashi is celebrated on the Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month. According to religious stories, Lord Vishnu turns on this Ekadashi, hence it is also called Parivartini Ekadashi. It is believed that worshipping Vishnu ji on this day leads to salvation. With the blessings of Shri Hari, there is happiness, prosperity in life and happiness in married life.
Parivartini Ekadashi 2024 date
According to the Panchang, Bhadrapada’s Parivartini Ekadashi is on Saturday, 14 September 2024. The fast of Parivartini Ekadashi will be observed on 15 September 2024 between 06.06 am to 08.34 am. The time of end of Dwadashi Tithi on this day is at 06.12 pm.
A person who wishes to observe Ekadashi fast will have to follow some mandatory rules from the day of Dashami. On this day, one should not consume prohibited items like meat, onion, lentils etc. Complete celibacy should be observed at night and one should stay away from sensual pleasures.
