Paris Olympics: India wows as Manu locks first medal in shooting

 India’s young shooter Manu Bhaker did wonders in the Paris Olympics. She won the bronze medal in the 10 meter air pistol event.

This is India’s first medal in the Paris Olympics. Manu has won a medal in the Olympics for the first time. Earlier, she had won gold in the Commonwealth Games. Manu’s victory has made the whole country happy.

12 years of waiting is over

India has got a medal in shooting after 12 years. Manu finally ended this wait. In 2012, Gagan Narang won bronze in the London Olympics. Before him, Abhinav Bindra won gold in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Had a great performance in the qualifying round

Manu had earlier performed brilliantly on the first day in Paris. 22-year-old Bhaker reached the final after finishing third in the qualifying round. Manu Bhaker finished third with 580 points after Hungary’s Veronica Major and South Korea’s Oh Ye Jin.
