Offer special bhog to Lord Shiva on Hariyali Teej to increase good fortune

According to the Panchang, the Tritiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Sawan month will start on 06 August at 07:52 pm. At the same time, it will end the next day i.e. on 07 August at 10:05 pm. According to Udaya Tithi, the festival of Hariyali Teej will be celebrated on 7 August.

There are some essential rules to follow for observing fast on Hariyali Teej. On this day, women apply mehndi on their hands and feet. They wear green clothes. They wear green bangles and buy Suhaag items. According to tradition, in this fast, the mother-in-law gives clothes, green bangles, jewelry, makeup items, sindoor and mehndi to the newly married daughter-in-law. On this day, women get together and sing songs of Sawan, swing and there is a lot of dancing and singing.

Banana leaves, Belpatra, Dhatura, Ank tree leaves, Tulsi, Shami leaves, black wet soil, Janeu, thread and new clothes. Bangles, Mahor, shell, vermilion, bichua, mehndi, Suhag Chuda, Kumkum and comb for the makeup of Mata Parvati ji. Apart from this, coconut, Kalash, Abir, sandalwood, oil and ghee, camphor, curd, sugar, honey, milk and Panchamrit are used in the worship.

On the day of Hariyali Teej, it is considered auspicious to offer Ghevar, Malpua, Kheer, Panchameva and Rava Halwa to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
