Kolkata. The West Bengal Assembly on Wednesday passed a resolution brought by the state’s Mamata Banerjee government against alleged irregularities in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) by voice vote after discussion. However, the main opposition party in the state, BJP, has lodged strong opposition to it.
At the same time, while responding to the discussion on the proposal, the state’s Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shobhandev Chattopadhyay has alleged large-scale rigging in NEET and called it the biggest scam in the education sector in independent India.
BJP opposed
BJP MLA Shankar Ghosh opposed the proposal and said that Trinamool has no moral right to discuss the NEET case, as the biggest scam in the education sector has happened in Bengal during the reign of Mamata Banerjee. In this session, Trinamool will also bring a proposal on Friday against the haste in implementing three new criminal laws.
