New Delhi. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday informed a Delhi court that it has received sanction to prosecute Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and AAP MLA Durgesh Pathak in a corruption case related to the alleged liquor scam case. The plea was made before Special Judge Kaveri Baveja, who posted the matter for hearing on August 27.
Kejriwal’s judicial custody in the case is going to end on August 27. On August 12, the court had given 15 days to the CBI to obtain the necessary sanction to prosecute Kejriwal and Pathak in the case. The CBI has already got sanction to investigate the case.
Let us tell you, Arvind Kejriwal’s petition filed against his arrest in the CBI case was to be heard in the Supreme Court today, but he did not get relief.
The CBI asked for more time in the case, after which the court postponed the hearing till September 5. During this time, the CBI opposed Kejriwal’s bail.
