Jay Shah confirmes Morne Morkel to be the bowling coach of Team India

India Bowling Coach:  Former South African fast bowler Morne Morkel will be the new bowling coach of the Indian cricket team. Morkel has served as the bowling coach of the Pakistan team. Morkel’s contract as India’s bowling coach is going to start from September 1.

News agency PTI quoted BCCI secretary Jay Shah as saying that former South African fast bowler Morne Morkel has been appointed as the new bowling coach of the Indian cricket team. Morkel’s contract is set to start from September 1, which means his first series with Team India will be the home Test series against Bangladesh starting September 19.

Let us tell you that Gautam Gambhir and Morne Morkel have worked together in the IPL team Lucknow Supergiants. Apart from this, Morkel was the coach of the Pakistan team during the ODI World Cup last year, but he resigned a few months before the contract with PCB ended.

Morkel played 86 Tests, 117 ODIs and 44 T20Is for South Africa during his illustrious international career, picking up 309, 188 and 47 wickets respectively.
