Indian hockey team lost in semi-finals of the Olympics, dream of winning gold after 44 years is shattered

India vs Germany Hockey Semi final Match: In the Paris Olympics, the Indian hockey team is facing strong Germany in the semi-finals. Germany is currently leading 3-2 in the match. Captain Haranpreet Singh scored the first goal for India in the 7th minute. After this, Germany’s Gonzalo Pilat scored an equalizer in the 18th minute. Christopher Rur scored a goal in the 27th minute and put his team ahead. After this, Sukhjeet Singh scored an equalizer for Team India in the 36th minute. After this, Marco Miltkau scored a goal in the 54th minute and put Germany ahead.

India got the lead in the first quarter

India got a penalty corner at the beginning of the first quarter. Captain Harmanpreet Singh could not score a goal on this. The German goalkeeper stopped Harmanpreet’s shot. Immediately after this, India got a second penalty corner in the next minute. India could not score a goal on this too. Team India lost two consecutive penalty corners. Haranpreet Singh put India ahead in the seventh minute. He scored a brilliant goal on the penalty corner.
 
Germany scored two goals in the second quarter

Germany made a comeback in the second quarter and scored two goals. For them, Gonzalo Pilat scored the equaliser in the 18th minute. After this, Christopher Ruhr scored the second goal in the 27th minute. Due to Germanpreet Singh’s mistake, Germany got a penalty stroke. Christopher scored on this goal.

India equalized in the third quarter

At the beginning of the third quarter, India got two penalty corners. India failed to score both times. The German goalkeeper stopped the shot. Sukhjeet Singh then scored a brilliant goal in the 36th minute to bring India level in the match. 

India did not play the final after 1980

India won its last of the eight Olympic gold medals in the 1980 Moscow Games. India has not reached the final of men’s hockey since that Olympics. Team India now has a chance to create history in Paris. Victory in the semi-finals will ensure a silver medal for India, which they last won in the 1960 Rome Olympics.
