In which direction should Ganesha installation be done? Know the Vastu

Every year Ganesha is installed on Shukla Chaturthi of Bhadrapada month. This year Ganesh Chaturthi is on 7 September 2024, Saturday and on this day the idols of Ganpati Bappa will be installed. For 10 days, devotees of Ganesha will serve and worship him and then Ganesh Visarjan will take place on 17 September on the day of Anant Chaturdashi.

If you are installing Ganesh Ji in your home or office on Ganeshotsav, then keep in mind some rules related to Vastu. Otherwise, installing Ganesh Ji in the wrong direction or in the wrong way can bring trouble to life. 

Install Ganesha’s idol in the right direction according to Vastu Shastra. According to Vastu, the most auspicious direction to install Ganesha’s idol is the north-east corner i.e. Ishaan Kon. If this is not possible, then install Ganpati Bappa in the east or west direction. Ganesha’s idol facing these directions gives auspicious results. 

Keep in mind that do not install the idol of Lord Ganesha in the south direction of the house even by mistake. Neither should the puja room be in this direction. Installing or worshipping the God in the south direction is prohibited. 

For installing Ganpati in the house, Ganesha idol with trunk on the left side is considered the best. This shows his love for his mother Gauri. Especially those who worship Goddess Gauri and Lord Ganesha together should buy Ganpati idol with trunk on the left side. 

Place the idol of Lord Ganesha in such a way that his back is not towards any room of the house because it is said that poverty resides behind the back of Ganesha. Hence, the back of the Ganesha idol should be towards the outside of the house.
Do not install the idol of Lord Ganesha facing the wall which is the wall of the toilet. Doing so can bring trouble to the family.
