Box Office Collection: Horror comedy Stree 2 starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao has performed fabulously at the domestic box office. After making a great collection in its second weekend at the box office, the film is now looking to cross the Rs 400 crore mark in terms of net collection in India soon. Shraddha Kapoor’s latest film earned Rs 307.80 crore in its first week at the Indian box office.
The film earned Rs 19.30 crore on its second Friday, Rs 33.80 crore on its second Saturday and Rs 40.75 crore on its second Sunday, taking its total collection in India to Rs 93.85 crore in the second weekend. According to film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh, with this, the film’s total India box office collection reached Rs 401.65 crore. The film’s overall occupancy in Hindi shows till the second Sunday was 63.69 percent.
He added, “Urban centres are doing exceptionally well, but it is the mass pockets that are really in a class of their own… In fact, tier-2 and tier-3 markets are witnessing this level of frenzy after a long time.” Adarsh further mentioned that the film’s box office collection is likely to increase further due to Janmashtami on Monday. Meanwhile, as per media reports, Stree 2 is expected to be available on Amazon Prime Video in late September or early October this year after its theatrical run.
