RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat: While hoisting the flag at the RSS headquarters in Nagpur, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said, ‘We are completing our 78th Independence Day…. We got independence when both the groups that sacrificed for this independence and the society that stood behind them were formed in the country….
The generation that we got independence with great hard work is gone but it is our responsibility to color the coming generations in our own color and protect them.
He said, “It is the duty of the coming generation to protect the ‘self’ of freedom because there are always people in the world who want to dominate other countries and we have to be alert and cautious and protect ourselves from them.”
He said, “The situation is not always the same. Sometimes the situation is good and sometimes it is not so good. These ups and downs will continue.”
Atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh
Indirectly referring to Bangladesh, Mohan Bhagwat said that there is a lot of turmoil in the neighbouring country and Hindu brothers are facing a lot of heat. It is not their fault but still they have to bear all this. Referring to India, he said that we have never attacked anyone in the past but it has been our tradition that whoever has come with the hope of help, we have helped him from our side. Even if he has behaved with us later in any way.
We have never attacked anyone, we have helped those who were in trouble. This is the tradition of our country. We have to move forward in this way. In this situation, we also have to see that our country remains safe and at the same time we have to help other countries.
Bhagwat said, “It is the responsibility of our country to ensure that the people suffering from instability and anarchy do not face any trouble, injustice and atrocities. In some cases, the government also has to look into it at its level, but it gets strength only when the society fulfills its duty and shows commitment to the country.”
There have been reports of vandalism in several Hindu temples, houses of Hindu community people and business establishments in Bangladesh since Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned recently. The country was plunged into chaos after violent protests against the Sheikh Hasina-led government over the controversial quota system in jobs. Hasina resigned and left the country and came to India.
Hope the situation in Bangladesh will soon normalize: PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his Independence Day speech from the ramparts of the Red Fort, expressed hope that the situation in Bangladesh will soon normalize and the safety of Hindus and other minority communities will be ensured there. PM Modi said, “As a neighbouring country, it is natural for us to be concerned about what has happened in Bangladesh. I hope that the situation there will soon normalize. The concern of 140 crore countrymen is that the safety of the Hindu minority community should be ensured there.”
He said, “India always wants our neighbouring countries to walk on the path of happiness and peace. We have a commitment towards peace, it is our culture. We will always have our best wishes for Bangladesh’s development journey in the coming days because we are people who think about the welfare of mankind.”
