New Delhi. Just before the voting of Haryana assembly elections, Gurmeet Ram Rahim, who is serving sentence for raping his followers, has been granted parole. Ram Rahim, who comes out of jail every time during election season, has been given conditional permission to come out on parole.
According to the conditions, Ram Rahim will not come to Haryana. There will be a ban on influencing the assembly elections in any way, holding any public meeting and making any kind of appeal through social media. In case of violation of all these conditions, there are instructions to cancel Ram Rahim’s parole immediately and send him back to jail.
At the same time, the political temperature of the state has increased after Ram Rahim got parole before the elections. Now Congress has started raising questions about this. Congress has written a letter to the Election Commission of India (ECI) expressing objection to this matter. They said in their letter that if Ram Rahim comes out of jail, the assembly elections may be affected, so he should not be given parole during the code of conduct.

Baroda by-election: On 20 October 2020, he got one-day parole to meet his mother. By-election was held in 2020.
Punjab Assembly Elections: Got 21 days parole before Punjab Assembly elections in February 2022.
Rajasthan Assembly Elections: Got 21 days parole before Rajasthan Assembly elections on 25 November 2023.
Lok Sabha Elections: Lok Sabha elections were held on 25 May 2024. Ram Rahim got 50 days parole on 19 January.
Haryana Assembly Elections: On August 13, 2024, Ram Rahim got 21 days furlough.
There is influence on these seats:
Voting will be held on 5th October for 90 assembly seats in Haryana. Before the voting, Congress has started raising questions on parole to Ram Rahim. Actually, Dera is considered to have influence on many seats there. Dera Sacha Sauda has considerable influence in Sirsa, Fatehabad, Kaithal, Hisar, Kurukshetra, Charkhi Dadri, Karnal, Panipat, Ambala and Bhiwani areas. There are around 35 seats in these areas, where direct interference of Dera can be seen. It cannot be denied that parole may send a message to supporters and voters before voting.
