Ganesh Chaturthi 2024: The first revered deity Lord Ganesha is worshipped for 10 days on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. Devotees install the idol of Ganesha in pandals and homes and worship him with great pomp and show. This time too, the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated with great pomp across the country on 7 September 2024. In such a situation, special attention should be paid to the auspicious time and method of idol installation.
According to the Vedic Panchang, the auspicious time
for Ganesh Chaturthi Puja and idol installation on September 7 will be from 11:02 am to 1:33 pm. During this time, you can install the Ganesh idol. Installing the idol of Ganesh ji during this time will be the best and auspicious time.
Method of idol installation:
For the idol installation of the first worshipped deity Lord Ganesha, take a bath on the day of Chaturthi and wear yellow or red coloured clothes. Then take a vow to fast.
Also install Riddhi-Siddhi and
then perform Bhoomi Pujan for idol installation. Place a puja stand in the north-east direction and spread a red or white cloth on it. Place rice on the stand and install the idol of Ganesha in the auspicious time. Also install Riddhi-Siddhi on the right and left of the idol of Ganpati and keep one betel nut each. Chant the mantra Om Pundarikakshaya Namah while sprinkling water on yourself.
Establish the Kalash:
Establish the Kalash on the right side of Ganpati Bappa. Put water, mango leaves, coin, rice in the Kalash and place a coconut on top and tie a mauli on it.
Offer roli, mauli, turmeric, sindoor, rice, sandalwood, abir, gulal, mehndi, red flower, cloves, cardamom, betel leaf, coconut. Worship the Kalash along with Bappa.
Offer Laddu or Modak as Prasad
. After this, make Bappa wear the sacred thread. Make 11 Durva in pairs and offer them. Offer Laddu or Modak as Prasad. Then listen to the story of Ganesh Chaturthi. After this, also recite Ganesh Chalisa.
Perform Aarti
Aarti then offer flowers and then distribute Prasad to all.
