Citroen is all set to unveil its much-awaited Basalt model in India on August 2. Citroen’s new SUV-coupe Basalt is set to arrive in its production-ready avatar early next month. Manufacturing of this SUV began in June and its launch is expected after its global debut. The Citroen Basalt will be positioned above the C3 Aircross.
Pricing details for the much-hyped coupe will be revealed in the next few weeks, while deliveries will be scheduled at a later date.
The Basalt, often spotted testing, is a stylish crossover built on the same platform as the Citroen C3 Aircross. Sporting the iconic Citroen double-chevron grille, the vehicle boasts a bolder front end than its siblings.
Features and Engine
Characterised by its sloping roofline, the Basalt flaunts a dynamic silhouette that is complemented by modern elements such as pop-up door handles, LED lighting and robust cladding. Inside, the cabin offers a blend of comfort and technology, including a massive touchscreen infotainment system, advanced safety features and wireless charging capabilities.
Powered by a 109 horsepower, 1.2-litre petrol engine, the Basalt will also have an electric version.
