BSNL gets Tata’s support to compete with Jio-Airtel

Private telecom companies like Reliance Jio, Airtel recently increased their tariff plans. Reliance Jio, Airtel Vodafone increased their tariff plans by 11-15 percent. After the private companies increased the recharge rates, people criticized it a lot on social media. People also expressed a lot of anger over this decision of the telecom companies, while this decision is proving to be a lifesaver for the government telecom company BSNL.

BSNL is benefiting from Jio-Airtel’s decision 

As soon as Jio-Airtel, Vodafone increased the rates of their plans, people started criticizing it on social media. Hashtags like Boycottjio, bsnl ki ghar vapsi started trending. After the private companies increased the tariff, the number of new users of BSNL is increasing rapidly. People are turning to BSNL for cheaper plans. According to ET report, about 25 lakh new users have joined BSNL since July 3-4. People are porting their numbers to BSNL for cheaper recharge plans. BSNL also got about 2.5 million new connections as their tariffs are still affordable for low-income users. BSNL hopes that this will help it recover from losses.

BSNL gets Tata’s support to compete with Jio-Airtel 

On one hand Jio-Airtel has made plans expensive, while on the other hand BSNL has joined hands with TATA to increase the quality of service. There is news of a deal between TATA and BSNL. A deal of Rs 15000 crore has been done between Tata’s IT company Tata Consultancy Service i.e. TCS and BSNL, through which 4G network will be made more efficient in India. At the same time, the ground will be prepared for 5G network. Tata’s TCS and BSNL together will roll out 4G internet service to about 1000 villages in India. Due to which people of villages will also be able to take advantage of fast speed internet service. Till now telecom companies like Jio and Airtel dominated the 4G network, but this deal of BSNL has increased their worries. 

The government has prepared a plan for BSNL  

At present, Reliance Jio and Airtel dominate the market. BSNL is lagging behind in this race, but now the government has also made a plan to strengthen it. It is believed that BSNL’s 4G network will be expanded rapidly. At the same time, the government telecom company MTNL can be merged with BSNL. People will get better services with the merger of MTNL in BSNL. BSNL’s infrastructure will be stronger than before. However, no official information about the merger has been revealed by the government yet. If this happens, BSNL will benefit from it.

The arbitrariness of private companies will not work  

Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that BSNL and MTNL will start 4G and 5G services as soon as possible. These services are bringing rapid changes in government telecom companies. He said that the government is monitoring it daily. BSNL has not started 4G and 5G services yet, but now the government is working on it rapidly. Jio and Airtel will compete

After the rollout of 4G and 5G networks, while private telecom companies are running fast, government telecom companies started lagging behind in this race. But now the government is planning to present BSNL as a strong option in front of private companies with better management and financial supervision. Telecom service is being strengthened.  

How cheap is BSNL’s plan 

Private companies like Reliance Jio and Airtel have increased their prices by 11% to 25%. The cheapest 28-day plan of Airtel and Vodafone has now reached Rs 199. Jio’s cheapest 28-day plan is Rs 189. While a similar plan of BSNL is available for just Rs 108. BSNL’s plans are quite cheap and affordable compared to private companies.
