New Delhi: To facilitate comfortable air travel, Air India Express has planned to focus more on economy class seats. According to reports, the airline plans to start reassembling aircraft with business class seats from April 2025. A senior Air India Express official gave this information on Tuesday.
The official said that we are working on the operation of narrow body aircraft with only economy class seats. According to reports, the Tata Group-owned airline has merged AIX Connect with itself on October 1.
The airline has so far inducted 35 white-tail Boeing 737-8 planes amid supply chain problems affecting the supply of new aircraft. This number will increase to 50 in the coming months.
The airline has a fleet of around 90 aircraft and this number can cross 110 by the end of the current financial year 2024-25. More than 30 of the existing aircraft have dual class seats. The airline will start reassembling aircraft with business class seats from April 2025. The airline wants to offer only ‘economy class’ seats.
