India beat Sri Lanka in Super Over, clean sweep the series

The last match of the three-match T20 series between India and Sri Lanka will be played in Pallekele on Tuesday (July 30). Team India is currently leading the series 2-0. Under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, India has come out to clean sweep the series.

India won the first match by 43 runs on this ground. After that it rained in the second match. Team India won the match by 7 wickets on the basis of Duckworth Lewis rule. Due to rain, the toss was delayed by more than 1 hour. Sri Lankan captain Charith Asalanka won the toss and decided to bowl first.

IND vs SL 3rd T20: Match reaches Super Over

Sri Lanka had to score 6 runs to win in the last over. Surprisingly Suryakumar Yadav came to bowl. He turned the match around by dismissing Kamindu Mendis and Mahish Teekshna on two consecutive balls. Sri Lanka had to score 3 runs on the last ball. Wickramasinghe equalized the score by taking 2 runs. In this way the match reached the super over.

India has made a comeback in the match to some extent by taking 3 consecutive wickets. Ravi Bishnoi got Kusal Mendis LBW on the second ball of the 16th over. Mendis scored 43 runs off 41 balls. After him, Wanindu Hasaranga returned to the pavilion in the very next over. He got caught by Ravi Bishnoi on the ball of Washington Sundar after scoring 3 runs. Sri Lankan captain Charith Asalanka, who came to bat after him, could not open the account. He got caught by wicketkeeper Sanju Samson on the ball of Sundar. Sri Lanka’s score is 117 runs for 4 wickets. It needs 21 runs in 20 balls to win.

India scored 137 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs. Most of the players of Team India failed in this match. Yashasvi Jaiswal (10), Sanju Samson (0), Rinku Singh (1), Suryakumar (8) and Shivam Dubey (13) failed. At one time, Team India’s score was 48 runs for 5 wickets in 8.4 overs. From here, Shubman Gill and Riyan Parag took over the innings. Both the players shared a 54-run partnership in 40 balls for the sixth wicket. Shubman scored 39 runs in 37 balls. Riyan Parag played an innings of 26 runs in 18 balls. In the last overs, Washington Sundar scored 25 runs in 18 balls to take the team to a respectable score. For Sri Lanka, Mahish Teekshna took 3 and Wanindu Hasaranga took 2 wickets.
