Israel sends proposal to America for Gaza Ceasefire Agreements

There is pressure from all sides on both countries to put an end to the horrors of the long-running Israel-Hamas war. There was a massive loss of life and property in this war. Millions of people were dislocated. A ceasefire agreement became necessary to stop the war and establish peace in Gaza.

Israel has sent a proposal to the US for a hostage and ceasefire agreement with the Palestinian movement Hamas. According to reports, Hamas spokesman in Lebanon Walid Kilani told Sputnik on Friday that the movement does not agree with Israel’s new conditions for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. Earlier, the media reported that the Jewish country was demanding changes to the Gaza ceasefire plan. Israel demands that displaced Palestinians be screened when they return to the northern Gaza Strip after the ceasefire begins.

According to the report, Israel also demands that a mechanism be established to monitor the movement of weapons into the Gaza Strip and that Israel maintain control over the Gaza-Egypt border. In addition, according to the report, the proposal includes changes to the locations where Israel Defense Forces troops are expected to be redeployed.

Israel and Hamas resumed indirect talks on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip in July. The ceasefire would be conditional on the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas. The talks had been halted for more than a month after US President Joe Biden announced a new plan on behalf of Israel to resolve the conflict. Israeli negotiators and mediators have held talks several times in Doha, Qatar and Cairo, Egypt in recent weeks, but have not reached any successful conclusion.
