Due to which, people are openly expressing their displeasure on social media and appeals are being made to boycott these companies. Meanwhile, the Government of India has reacted to the increase in the prices of mobile recharge plans.

In fact, in an official press release, the regulatory body said that the mobile service market runs with the market forces of demand and supply, with three private sector companies and one public sector company. According to the press release, the rates of telecommunication services are determined by market forces. These rates are determined within the regulatory framework notified by the independent regulator i.e. TRAI. The Government of India says that it does not interfere in the decisions of the free market.

TRAI monitors that such changes are made within the prescribed regulatory framework.
