In such a situation, the helmet does not fit on the head. Helmet is used to protect the head from injury or accident. But for the people of this community, this work is done by the turban on the head.
The turban on the head protects their head from serious injuries. This is the reason why they are exempted from wearing helmets. Apart from these, if someone is not wearing a helmet due to a medical condition, then they are also exempted from wearing a helmet, but for that they have to show proof.
What are the rules on helmets?
According to the rules, all two-wheelers are required to wear helmets. According to section 129, if caught without a helmet, a fine of up to Rs 5,000 can be imposed. If there is a child above 4 years of age on the bike, he or she is also required to wear a helmet. Apart from this, the co-passenger is also required to wear a helmet.
