Jadeja dropped from ODIs or not?

Mumbai: Star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been dropped from Team India for the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. Many questions are being raised on Ravindra Jadeja’s sudden exclusion from the ODI team. Let us tell you that the three-match ODI series between India and Sri Lanka will be played in Colombo from August 2 to August 7. Ravindra Jadeja, after retiring from T20 International, is now available for Team India only in Test and ODI formats.

Why Ravindra Jadeja out of the ODI team?

In a press conference held in Mumbai on Monday, Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar clarified that Ravindra Jadeja has not been dropped from the ODI team. Ajit Agarkar said, ‘Ravindra Jadeja has not been dropped from the ODI team. There was no point in taking both him and Akshar Patel for such a short series. We know what Jaddu has done. He performed brilliantly in the T20 World Cup. He has not been dropped from the ODI team.’

The truth came out

Ajit Agarkar said, ‘All options are open, but if Ravindra Jadeja is taken along with Akshar Patel, only one of them would play all three matches. We have to play a Test series ahead, in which Ravindra Jadeja will play most of the matches. These three matches do not make any difference. We should have made it clear that Ravindra Jadeja has not been dropped. He is still in our strategy and is a very important player.’

Sri Lanka tour will start from 27th July

The T20 series against Sri Lanka will start from July 27. After that there will be two other T20 matches on July 28 and 30. All the matches will be played at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. After this, ODI matches will be played on August 2, 4 and 7 at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Rohit Sharma, who retired from T20 international matches after winning the T20 World Cup, will be the captain of the ODI team.
