It has been three years since the divorce of Bollywood actor Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao. After a long journey of 16 years, both of them decided to end their marriage in 2021. Even after the divorce, a very good bonding is seen between them.
Recently, she directed ‘Missing Ladies’ which received great reactions from both critics and audiences.
Kiran Rao said, ‘I think relationships need to be redefined from time to time because as we grow up we change as human beings. We need different things and I thought this (divorce) would make me happy and honestly, it has made me very happy. It is a very happy divorce.’
Both are often seen spending time with their family and son. Recently Aamir and Kiran collaborated for the film ‘Laapta Ladies’. This film was well liked.
Kiran Rao further said, ‘I was alone for a long time when I was not married. I enjoyed my life and freedom to the fullest before marriage. I used to feel lonely at that time, but not now because I am with my son Azad.
I think most people worry about feeling lonely after divorce, but I never felt that way because I had the full support of Aamir and my family. So, actually, it has been only good things.
It has been a very happy divorce. There is still love between us… Kiran said, ‘We just needed a piece of paper (divorce papers) to separate. But we know what we really mean to each other. Even today there is a lot of love, a lot of respect, a lot of past between us, which I never want to lose.’
