Jyotiraditya Scindia stuns private telecoms, BSNL to start 4G,5G soon

The country’s private telecom companies have increased mobile tariffs drastically from July 3. Users have expressed their displeasure over this on social media. Also, people are appealing to use the government telecom company BSNL.

However, BSNL has not yet started 4G and 5G services, due to which many people are still avoiding turning it. At the same time, Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has made a big announcement regarding BSNL.

Speaking at the inauguration of the India Mobile Congress, Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that BSNL and MTNL will start 4G and 5G services as soon as possible. Rapid changes are being made in government telecom companies and it is being monitored daily. He said that the government stands behind MTNL’s sovereign guarantee bond and there will be no default even though its operations will be transferred to BSNL.

Union Communications Minister Scindia further said that MTNL’s operations will be transferred to BSNL. Assets will be monetized to pay off liabilities. The Government of India stands behind MTNL’s bonds and there will be no default. He said that India should not only be a supplier of services but also a supplier of products. Therefore, we chose the difficult path and decided to develop India 4G stack ourselves.
