When BSNL 5G service will launched?

BSNL is preparing to launch 5G by Sankranti in 2025. This information has been given by L Srinu, Principal General Manager of BSNL Andhra Pradesh. According to The Hindu report, in a press conference, Srinu said that BSNL is upgrading towers and other equipment so that 5G can be started soon. The 4G technology that BSNL is taking from TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) can be upgraded to 5G. Therefore, BSNL will not have to spend much to start 5G in India.

BSNL 5G: Where will it launch first?

BSNL will start 5G NSA in those places where it has already started 4G. The work of installing 4G is still going on. The company’s target is to install 4G in 1 lakh places by the end of 2024-25. BSNL has installed 4G in 25,000 places so far and the process of installing it in more places is going on. 5G will also start in several phases and it will be difficult for BSNL to compete directly with private telecom companies in the case of 5G.

Work is going on on a new project

Along with this, Srinu told that BSNL is working on a new project named ‘Sarvatra Wi-Fi’. Under this project, BSNL aims to continue the Wi-Fi service even when the customer moves from one place to another. This is a way to continue the same service even when the customer changes the place. Since BSNL’s fiber network is spread all over the country, it will be easy for BSNL to do this work. This is a service that private telecom companies are already providing in India.

As customers are waiting for BSNL’s 4G network to arrive, BSNL officials have said that 5G network will arrive soon. Sankranti is in the first week of January 2025, so 5G may arrive soon.
