AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan detained, ED takes big action in Waqf Board scam

New Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Okhla Amanatullah Khan has been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). After raiding his residence for about 6 hours in the morning, the ED team took the MLA with them. ED has taken this action in the case related to the Alleged Wakf Board Scam. After the raid in the morning, there was a lot of commotion at Amanatullah Khan’s house.

The MLA kept trying to stop the ED team from entering his house. He also cited his mother-in-law’s illness.

At around 7 am, a team of ED reached the MLA’s residence in Okhla with a search warrant. The MLA did not open the gate for a long time and kept arguing with the officers from behind the grill. Police and Para Military Force personnel were also called on the spot. Later, somehow the MLA agreed and allowed the officers to come inside. The team of 7 officers kept searching inside the house for a long time. At around 12:30 in the afternoon, the ED team took the MLA in their car and left.

During this time, apart from the media, a crowd of local people and supporters of the MLA had gathered there. Amidst a lot of chaos, the policemen made way for the vehicle to pass. The Anti Corruption Bureau had registered a case against Delhi Wakf Board Chairman Amanatullah Khan in 2016. Later, when the matter of alleged money laundering came to light, the ED registered a case.
