Bloody riots in Dhaka Part-2, violence erupts again in Bangladesh

Bangladesh News: Just when life seemed to be returning to normal in Bangladesh, the fire of violence has flared up again. On Sunday night, there was a bloody clash between students and protesting paramilitary personnel in the capital Dhaka. According to the report of ‘The Daily Star’, at least 50 people have been injured.

The violent clashes started around 9.20 pm. A large number of students gathered near the Secretariat. They had received information that the Ansars (a paramilitary auxiliary force) had detained several students. The students allegedly tried to disperse the Ansars’ demonstration demanding permanent posts.

Army deployed to control the situation

Both sides hurled bricks and stones and chased each other. Police and army personnel have been deployed to control the situation. Earlier, Ansar members had ended their protest after getting assurances from interim government’s Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retired) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury.

Krishna Janmashtami is being celebrated amidst terror in Bangladesh

In view of the anti-Hindu atmosphere in the neighbouring country, Shri Krishna Janmashtami is not being celebrated on a large scale. Hindus said that they will not take out road shows, nor will there be DJ or other music. There is news of an attack on Radha Krishna temple in Panchgarh district.

Dhaka metro started after a month

The Dhaka metro resumed services on Sunday, a month after it was shut for commuters. Two stations – Mirpur 10 and Kazipara – will remain closed. However, business is not as usual in Dhaka. Until three weeks ago, the capital’s streets were filled with anti-government protesters. Many public squares were crowded with agitating people.

The wave of protests has subsided after the fall of the government led by Sheikh Hasina and her leaving the country for India. An interim government has been in place since August 8, but rebellion is still seen on many streets of Dhaka.
