US presidential election: The fight for the presidential election to be held in November in America is getting more interesting with each passing day. Supporters of both the contestants Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are now putting their heart and soul for their party.
To support the Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris, some Hindus of the country have formed a group called ‘Hindus for Kamala Harris’. They believe that she will be a good leader for India, America and the world.
The founding members of the ‘Hindus for Kamala Harris’ group said that this group has been formed to help Kamala Devi Harris get appointed as the 47th President of America. A member of the group said that we should help Kamala Harris win. This will be the best result for America, India and the world! Trump is a disaster! Another member said that there is a simple way to win. Support Harris’ candidacy without rejecting the other side because of what she stands for. The group has urged Hindus to vote in the elections, put up signs in support of Kamala Harris near their homes and donate to help her election campaign.
There is a tough competition between Harris and Republican Party candidate and former President Donald Trump in the presidential election. Harris, of Indian-African origin, accepted her candidacy during the Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Thursday night and with this she became the second woman leader of the Democratic Party to become a presidential candidate. Harris (59) is the first Indian-American and the first black woman to become a candidate of a major party for the US presidency. As soon as Harris came on stage, her supporters welcomed her with loud applause and raised slogans in her support.
Harris (59), who came on stage to accept the candidacy at the United Center in Chicago, said that impossible journeys are nothing new for her. She was a prosecutor in California before becoming the US Vice President. She said that on behalf of the people, on behalf of every American, regardless of party, race, or language, on behalf of my mother and all those who started their impossible journey, on behalf of the Americans with whom I grew up, who work hard, pursue their dreams and take care of each other, on behalf of all those whose story can only be written in the greatest nation on earth, I accept the candidacy.
Harris’s mother Shyamala Gopalan was Indian while her father Donald Jasper Harris is a citizen of Jamaica. If Harris is elected, she will be the first woman President of America. Remembering Shyamala Gopalan, Harris said that she misses her mother every day and she misses her especially when she overcomes a big obstacle in America and achieves a big achievement. She said that the election to be held on November 5 will be very important in the history of America.
In her 40-minute speech, Harris said that with this election, our country has a precious opportunity to move forward from the bitterness, pessimism and divisive battles of the past. This is a chance to set a new path forward as Americans, not as members of any one party or faction. Vice President Harris outlined her future plans in case she is elected the 47th President of the United States. Harris said that I will be a president who unites us around our highest aspirations. A president who leads and listens to the people. Who is realistic, practical and has common sense and always fights for the American people. From the court to the White House, this has been my life’s work.
She put forward the consequences of electing former President Trump (78) for a second term. Targeting Trump, Harris said that in many ways, Donald Trump is not a calm person, but the consequences of bringing Trump back to the White House are extremely serious. She talked about the chaos that took place during Trump’s tenure in the Oval Office and also pointed to Trump questioning the election results after his defeat in 2020. The Oval Office is the formal workplace of the President of the United States in the White House. Harris said that Donald Trump tried to deny your vote. When he failed, he sent an armed mob to the ‘Capitol’ (US Parliament complex), which attacked law enforcement officers. When the leaders of his own party pleaded with him to ask the mob to retreat and send help, he did the opposite. His move further fuelled the fire of chaos. He said Trump has been convicted of 34 felony counts in connection with the silencing money case, and a federal jury in his defamation suit found that the former president had sexually abused E. Jean Carroll.
Harris said that the American jury found him guilty of sexual abuse in addition to fraud. She said that she will ensure that America remains strong and retains its role as a world leader. Describing her unexpected candidacy of the Democratic Party in the presidential election after President Joe Biden decided to drop out of the presidential race in July, Harris said that unlikely things are nothing new for her. Harris said that she remembers her mother every day and remembers the values she instilled in her.
She also said that her mother had taught her never to do half-hearted work. She wished her husband Doug Emhoff on their wedding anniversary. Thursday was their 10th wedding anniversary. Harris (59) said in her address at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago that I will ensure that we lead the world towards the future in the field of space and AI and that America, not China, wins the competition of the 21st century and that we strengthen our global leadership, not abandon it.
She said that her Republican rival Trump does not fight for the middle class. Instead, he fights for himself and his billionaire friends. He will give them another tax break which will increase the national debt by five thousand billion dollars. Harris also called for reform of the immigration system.
She said that if she is elected America’s ‘Commander-in-Chief’, she will ensure that the country always has the strongest and deadliest fighting force in the world, Israel can defend itself and Ukraine and NATO allies are not left alone. Harris also talked about supporting Ukraine and NATO allies. She said that on the other hand, Trump threatened to leave NATO.
Encouraged Russian President Vladimir Putin to attack America’s allies. Harris said that five days before Russia attacked Ukraine, she met President Volodymyr Zelensky and warned him about Russia’s invasion plan. She said that I helped organize a global response of more than 50 countries to defend against Putin’s aggression. As President, I will stand firmly with Ukraine and our NATO allies.
Harris said on the Gaza war that President Biden and I are working round the clock. Because now the time has come for a hostage agreement and ceasefire. Let me be clear: I will always stand in support of Israel’s right to self-defense and I will always ensure that Israel has the ability to defend itself.
