Iranian interference in US elections, FBI makes big allegation on Tehran

US-Iran Relations: US intelligence officials said on Monday that they believe Iran is responsible for interfering with Donald Trump’s presidential election campaign. This is being seen as Iran’s attempt to potentially change the results of the US election and interfere in the country’s politics.

For the first time, this allegation has been put on Iran.
In the assessment of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and other federal agencies, for the first time the US government has blamed Iran for hacking. This has increased concerns about the danger of foreign interference in the elections.

Officials believe that in addition to Trump’s campaign, Iran also tried to hack Kamala Harris’s presidential election campaign.

Iran denies allegations
Iran’s mission to the United Nations has denied hacking, saying Iran had no purpose or intention to interfere in the election and challenged the US to provide evidence.

Tension between America and Tehran
This statement has been given at a time when America is hoping to prevent the threat of retaliation against Israel for the killing of Ismail Haniyeh, the chief of Hamas’s political wing. Tension has increased between America and Tehran over this.

It is noteworthy that Hezbollah’s top commander was killed in an Israeli attack in southern Beirut last month, after which Tehran and Iran-backed Hezbollah have vowed to take revenge.
