Pat Cummins retires from cricket before the IND vs AUS mega battle

Last year, under the captaincy of Pat Cummins, Australia won the World Test Championship and ODI World Cup titles. 

Why did Pat Cummins take this decision? 

Pat Cummins has gone through a very busy schedule since the World Test Championship final last year. He did not miss any tournament including the ODI World Cup, IPL 2024, T20 World Cup. Now due to fatigue and workload, Pat Cummins has taken a break of about 8 weeks. He has taken this decision to be fresh till the Border Gavaskar Trophy.

Pat Cummins is desperate to win the India-Australia series. Australia has not won any Test series against India at home since 2014-15. India created history by defeating Australia badly in its home in 2018-19 and 2020-21. But this time Pat Cummins is ready to go with full preparation. The Test series between the two teams will start from November 22, which will be very important for the final of the Test Championship. 

What did Pat Cummins say? 

While talking to Fox Cricket, Pat Cummins said, ‘This is a trophy that I have never won. In fact, many players in our group have not won it. We have achieved some great achievements as a Test group. You trust yourself to win a home series. I think you have to trust yourself to win a home series. I have been bowling continuously since the final of the World Test Championship about 18 months ago. This break will give me a chance to stay away from bowling completely for 7 or 8 weeks, so that the body can recover and then you can start preparing again.’
