This bowler is ahead of Bumrah and Shami in speed

India vs Bangladesh Test Series:  After the series against Sri Lanka, India is now eyeing to play against Bangladesh. Team India will be on a break for a few days. During this time, Indian players will be seen in domestic tournaments. Some players will be seen playing in the Buchi Babu tournament and some in the Duleep Trophy.

This will give many players a chance to make their place in the Test team. From batsmen to bowlers, everyone will try to make their place in Team India.

Umran Malik is compared to Waqar Younis

Fast bowler Umran Malik will not play for Jammu and Kashmir in the Buchi Babu tournament. He caught everyone’s attention during IPL 2022. He will not play in this tournament due to dengue. Umran played only one match in the last IPL. In the previous season, he played only eight matches for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Umran Malik’s run-up is compared to former Pakistan captain Waqar Younis. He can bowl consistently at a speed of 150 kmph or more.

Worked with Dale Steyn and Irfan Pathan

After working closely with Dale Steyn in the IPL, Umran also worked with former Indian fast bowler Irfan Pathan during the domestic season. Due to bad weather in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ranji matches, he bowled only 47 overs in the entire season. This had a profound impact on his preparations. Now he is ready to move on from all this and make a comeback.
Luck did not favor Umran

Umran told the Indian Express, “I was fully prepared that season, but the weather did not help me. Then I was really looking forward to the IPL because I had achieved a lot in the months before the IPL. Unfortunately that too did not go as I wanted, but it also gave me time to work on the things I wanted to do in practice sessions. I have definitely become a better bowler if you ask me. I injured my hamstring after the IPL and as soon as I recovered, I got dengue.

Preparing for the future

Talking about his future plans, Umran said, “These days I am bowling a lot with the new ball because I believe swing can make a huge difference to my pace. I want to learn a few things, especially how to make a plan and implement it. If you have this, you will be better prepared to face the challenges.”

You may get a chance in Australia

India has to go on an important tour of Australia at the end of the year. India will play a series of 5 Test matches there. Keeping that series in mind, the selectors and team management are keeping an eye on Umran. With India’s fast bowling resources being low, Umran, who is fully fit and in form, can be a useful player in the fast and bouncy Australian conditions. Recently in Chennai, India’s former bowling coach Bharat Arun spoke about the need to prepare Umran for the Australia series.
