New Delhi. The Supreme Court has said that no criminal action will be taken against former Uttar Pradesh minister Swami Prasad Maurya in a case related to his daughter’s marriage.
SC stays Allahabad HC’s decision
On the petition filed by Deepak Kumar Swarnkar, who claimed to be Sanghmitra’s husband, the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court had ordered criminal action against Swami Prasad Maurya. Swami Prasad Maurya had approached the apex court against this order. On Friday, the Supreme Court has stayed the decision of Allahabad High Court in the marital dispute related to Sanghmitra Maurya.

A bench of Justices MM Sundresh and Arvind Kumar also issued a notice to the UP government against the decision of the Allahabad High Court. On the petition filed by Deepak, the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court had ordered criminal action against Swami Prasad Maurya.
