Patanjali to SC: We stopped selling 14 products

New Delhi. Yog Guru Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali Ayurveda Limited told the Supreme Court on Tuesday that it has stopped the sale of 14 products whose manufacturing licenses were suspended by the Uttarakhand State Licensing Authority in April. The company told a bench of Justice Hima Kohli and Justice Sandeep Mehta that it has directed 5,606 franchise stores to withdraw these products.

Patanjali Ayurveda said that media platforms have also been directed to withdraw all advertisements of these 14 products. The bench directed Patanjali Ayurveda to file an affidavit within two weeks to inform whether the request made to social media platforms to remove the advertisement has been implemented. Have the advertisements of these 14 products been withdrawn?

The bench fixed July 30 for the next hearing of the case. The Supreme Court is hearing a petition filed by the Indian Medical Association (IMA), in which Patanjali has been accused of running a propaganda campaign against the Kovid vaccination campaign and modern medical systems. The Uttarakhand State Licensing Authority had told the court that the manufacturing license of 14 products of Patanjali Ayurveda Limited and Divya Pharmacy has been ‘suspended with immediate effect’.

The Supreme Court had reserved its order on May 14 on the contempt notice issued to Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev, his associate Balkrishna and Patanjali Ayurveda Limited in the misleading advertisement case. Let us tell you that even after the order of the Supreme Court, the court had strongly reprimanded them for publishing advertisements of many products. After this, Patanjali published a public apology and said that this mistake will not be repeated.
