US-Israel: Will America support Israel against Iran? Biden replies this to Netanyahu

US President Joe Biden told Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday that Washington is committed to defending Israel “against all threats posed by Iran”, the White House said. The conversation was the first between the two leaders since the killing of Hamas political wing leader Ismail Haniya in Tehran and the death of a senior Hezbollah commander in Beirut.

Biden also stressed “ongoing efforts to reduce widespread tensions in the region,” the White House said in a statement, according to AFB. It said Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris was also with Biden during the conversation.

According to the White House, Biden ‘reaffirmed his commitment to Israel’s security against all threats posed by Iran, including its proxy terrorist groups Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis.’

Let us tell you that Hamas in Gaza, Hezbollah in Lebanon and Houthi rebels in Yemen have the support of Iran.

According to the statement, ‘The President discussed efforts to support Israel’s defense against threats including ballistic missiles and drones, including new defensive US military deployments.’

Israel maintains silence on Haniya
Netanyahu’s government has not commented on Haniya’s killing in Tehran, but Palestinian terrorist groups and Iran have blamed Israel for it.

Iran said it will avenge Haniyeh’s death.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said that Israel will ‘regret’ the ‘cowardly’ killing of Haniyeh. Meanwhile, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday that it is ‘Tehran’s duty’ to avenge the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyei because it happened in the Iranian capital.

Israel admits killing Hezbollah commander
However, Israel has said that it has killed Hezbollah’s military commander Fuad Shukr in Beirut. Hezbollah is officially issuing a statement that Shukr has been killed.

Israel says Shukar’s killing was a response to the Lebanese group’s deadly rocket attack on the Golan Heights last week. Since the Gaza war began, Hezbollah has exchanged gunfire with Israel in southern Lebanon almost daily.

Israel has vowed to eradicate Hamas. It has been continuously fighting Hamas in the Gaza Strip since the October 7 attack. Let us tell you that 1197 people were killed in the October 7 attack while more than 250 people were taken hostage by the Palestinian group. Of these, 111 are still captive in Gaza, of which the army says that 39 are dead.

After this attack, Israel declared war against Hamas and started attacking Gaza under its control. At least 39,480 Palestinians have died in Israeli attacks.
