A self-proclaimed Baba has secretly built a temple on the Sundardhunga glacier. The matter is of Bageshwar in Uttarakhand. This temple has been built unauthorizedly on more than 5,000 meters of government land. Baba Yogi Chaitanya Akash has claimed that he built the temple at an environmentally sensitive place on the instructions of divine power.
According to the report, a villager said that the villagers supported Baba. Baba had told them that Goddess Bhagwati had come in his dreams and instructed him to build a temple at Devi Kund. The ‘Kund’, a holy place for pilgrims and locals, was practically converted into a swimming pool by Baba.
People say that Baba can often be seen bathing there. Local resident Mahendra Singh Dhami has said that this is desecration and there is no doubt about it.
Local Prakash Kumar said, ‘This is blasphemy. For centuries, our deities have been coming to the Kund every 12 years during the Nanda Raj Yatra. Now this so-called baba has misguided the villagers and established this temple against our traditions.
